The Earth, like any living being, has its own special spirituality, and without a native land, without a close connection with one's homeland, it is impossible to find oneself and one's soul.

- Martiros Saryan

Flowing to the earth warm, native like the first embrace of a mother, with a scent that remains with us for the rest of our lives. A sense of belonging. To sprout from the ground is to know oneself. Soil, as a basis from which you can push yourself to take further steps towards yourself, so as not to forget.. from the origin to the seventh generation of the family. Your memory of roots is self-preservation and the answer to the question:  Who are we? Why were we born here? Right now, nowadays? With each generation, the tree strengthens and grows. Its stout trunk passes through time. The flexible branches of the descendants stretch upward to the future, leaving the ancestors somewhere at the root. Leaves are blooming, flowers, our tiny children, are blossoming. The nature of our native land, like us, is a magnificent, volatile, distinctive melancholy. Nostalgia, when we are sprouts between heaven and earth far from it. We find each other by gaze wherever we are. We wander among the crowd to find our people for conversations without words.

We are not just numbers. One will fall - the other will spark.  These images are captured on large (4x5 in) and ultralarge (10x12 in) format film.
